How to choose a comfortable clothing fit

Compare garment measurements, check freedom of movement and assess clothing length with this practical Ego Bangla fit guide.

Measure something you already wear

Lay a well-fitting garment flat without stretching it. Note the width across the chest or waist, the body length and the sleeve or leg length. Record how you measured, because sellers may use different methods. A body measurement and a flat garment measurement are not interchangeable.

Leave room for real movement

Fit is more than appearance in a mirror. Sit down, raise your arms and walk a few steps. Buttons should not pull, seams should not dig in, and a waistband should remain comfortable when seated. If you plan to layer, try the garment over the clothes you will actually wear beneath it.

Compare cut before choosing a label

A close-cut shirt and a relaxed shirt can share a size label while fitting very differently. Look for garment measurements and a description of the cut. If these are absent, ask before purchase. Do not assume that moving up one size will solve every issue: shoulder position and length can change too.

Check length with the complete outfit

Try trousers with the intended footwear and check that the hem does not catch beneath your heel. For tops, bend and reach to see whether the length gives the coverage you want. A useful fit supports your routine rather than requiring constant adjustment.

Make the final decision deliberately

Write down the measurements that worked for you so your next comparison is easier. Confirm return or exchange conditions before buying, particularly when you cannot try a piece on. For outfit planning, read the versatile wardrobe guide.
